How to use count

  1. Present

    My son counts to ten in English already.

    Meu filho já conta até dez em inglês.

  2. Past

    I counted the money twice to be sure.

    Eu contei o dinheiro duas vezes para ter certeza.

  3. Future

    We will count the chairs before the party.

    A gente vai contar as cadeiras antes da festa.

  4. Present continuous

    Quiet, I am counting the change.

    Silêncio, estou contando o troco.

  5. Present perfect

    Have you counted everyone on the bus?

    Você contou todo mundo no ônibus?

  6. Conditional

    I would count the days until the trip.

    Eu contaria os dias até a viagem.

  7. Imperative

    Count on me, I'll be there.

    Conte comigo, eu vou estar lá.

Good to know

  • "Count" é contar números; contar uma história é "tell".
  • "Count on" é contar com alguém: "you can count on me".
