    Meteré el coche en el garaje antes de la tormenta.

    I'll put the car in the garage before the storm.

  5. Conditional

    Yo metería el pescado en la nevera ahora mismo.

    I'd put the fish in the fridge right now.

  6. Present subjunctive

    No quiero que metas el perro en la cama.

    I don't want you putting the dog on the bed.

  7. Past subjunctive

    Le dije que metiera las maletas en el maletero.

    I told him to put the suitcases in the boot.

  8. Imperative

    ¡Mete el pan en el horno, que se enfría!

    Put the bread in the oven, it's getting cold!

Good to know

  • "Meterse con alguien" is to tease or pick on someone; "meter la pata" is to put your foot in it.
