    When you get bitten by an insect, it swells up.

  2. Past

    きのう より あし が はれた。

    My foot is more swollen than yesterday.

  3. Te-form

    め が はれて います ね。

    Your eye is swollen, isn't it?

  4. Potential

    こんな に はれられる と、 くつ が はけない。
