    This rain will stop soon.

  2. Past

    よる に なって、 ゆき が やんだ。

    At night the snow stopped.

  3. Te-form

    あめ、 もう やんで います か?

    Has the rain stopped already?

  4. Potential

    こんな に つよい あめ が すぐ やめる わけ が ない。

    There's no way rain this heavy can stop soon.

  5. Want to

    あめ も そろそろ やみたい でしょう。

    The rain must want to stop soon too.

  6. Volitional

    あめ が やもう と やむまい と、 でかけます。

    Whether the rain stops or not, I'm going out.
