  2. Past

    Mi cumpleaños cayó en domingo y nadie pudo venir.

    My birthday fell on a Sunday and nobody could come.

  3. Imperfect

    La feria caía siempre dos semanas después de Semana Santa.

    The fair always fell two weeks after Holy Week.

  4. Future

    El año que viene el examen caerá en plena feria.

    Next year the exam will fall right in the middle of the fair.

  5. Conditional

    Con ese calendario, el festivo caería en sábado.

    With that calendar, the bank holiday would fall on a Saturday.

  6. Present subjunctive

    Ojalá que mi cumpleaños caiga en viernes este año.

    I hope my birthday falls on a Friday this year.

  7. Past subjunctive

    Si la boda cayera en puente, vendría más gente.

    If the wedding fell on a long weekend, more people would come.

  8. Imperative

    ¡Caed por casa un día, que os echamos de menos!

    Drop by the house one day, we miss you!

Good to know

  • "¿En qué día cae tu cumpleaños?" asks which day of the week it falls on. "Caer en la cuenta" is to realise.
  • "Caer por" a place is to drop by: "a ver si caes por casa".
