PART 1 · LESSON 3 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES

Come Back Soon

On Sunday night Laura takes the notebook down to the kitchen, and Matteo reads the first page out loud. Five words, written in 1958 by her grandmother's mother. Then, for the first time since she arrived, Laura calls her grandmother. Ask where something is, who someone is and whose something is, ask what something means, say my, your and this, say it's me on the phone, and say come back soon.

THE STORY

It's Sunday night, a few minutes after nine. Laura takes her grandmother's notebook down to the big kitchen, where Matteo is getting the school ready for Monday, and asks him what the first page says. Then, for the first time since she arrived, she calls her grandmother. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
