On Tuesday at lunchtime, Emma takes a birthday parcel for her mother to the post office. LA HISTORIA
It is Tuesday October 6, 2026. Emma's mother's birthday is on Saturday, in Chicago. At lunchtime, Emma runs to the post office with a box under her arm. There's a queue, of course, and only one counter. Her new bank card still hasn't arrived, so she pays in cash. Back at the school, she tells Karim all about it.
