    What time should I come?

  8. Ordres et demandes

    むかえ に まいります から、 うごかないで ください。

  9. Passif et causatif

"The train is arriving," was announced on the platform.

Bon à savoir

  • まいる is いく and くる said humbly of yourself: すぐ まいります; on the platform, でんしゃ が まいります.
  • まいった, "I give up", "you got me", and あつさ に まいる, to be worn down by the heat, are the same verb.
  • Nobody is made to まいる, so the imperative and passive sentences show it beside another verb.
