LA HISTORIA
It's Saturday, October 24, late in the afternoon, and a fine rain is falling. At the end of a little road, there's a white stone house with blue shutters, and behind it, the sea. Mamie Jeanne, Chloe's grandmother, is waiting at the door in a big wool cardigan. She's ninety, and she hasn't seen Chloe since the summer before last. An hour later, by the fire, Chloe phones her father in Lyon from the house phone. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
