One sentence for each tense, the way people say it.

  1. Present and future

    まいばん おふろ に はいります。

    I take a bath every evening.

  2. Past

    ことし、 だいがく に はいった。

    I got into university this year.

  3. Te-form

    どうぞ、 なか に はいって ください。

    Please come in.

  4. Potential

    くつ の まま で は はいれません。

    You can't come in with your shoes on.

  5. Want to

    さむい から、 はやく おふろ に はいりたい。

    It's cold, I want to get in the bath soon.

  6. Volitional

    あの カフェ に はいろう。

    Let's go into that café.

  7. Conditional

    この かいしゃ に はいれば、 とうきょう に すめます。

    If I join this company, I can live in Tokyo.

Good to know

  • はいる goes into a room, a bath, a school or a company; いれる is to put something in. おふろ に はいる is to take a bath.
