How to use durar

  1. Present

    El vuelo a Cancún dura como dos horas.

    The flight to Cancún lasts about two hours.

  2. Past

    La boda duró hasta las cinco de la mañana.

    The wedding lasted until five in the morning.

  3. Imperfect

    Antes las pilas duraban mucho más tiempo.

    Batteries used to last much longer.

  4. Future

    La junta durará una hora, no más.

    The meeting will last an hour, no longer.

  5. Conditional

    Con cuidado, ese carro duraría otros diez años.

    With care, that car would last another ten years.

  6. Present subjunctive

    Ojalá que dure el buen clima todo el fin.

    Hopefully the good weather lasts all weekend.

  7. Past subjunctive

    Si la película durara menos, iría contigo.

    If the movie were shorter, I'd go with you.

  8. Imperative

    Dura hasta el final, campeón, tú puedes.

    Last until the end, champ, you can do it.
