  2. Simple past

    Sie kündigte nach zwanzig Jahren in der Firma.

    She quit after twenty years at the company.

  3. Perfect

    Hast du das Fitnessstudio schon gekündigt?

    Have you cancelled the gym yet?

  4. Future

    Ich werde die Wohnung zum ersten Juli kündigen.

    I'll give notice on the flat for the first of July.

  5. Conditional

    An deiner Stelle würde ich noch nicht kündigen.

    In your place I wouldn't quit yet.

  6. Imperative

    Kündige den Vertrag rechtzeitig, sonst verlängert er sich!

Good to know

  • A contract is kündigen with the accusative, den Vertrag kündigen; a person with the dative: die Firma hat ihm gekündigt, the company let him go.
  • Said alone, ich kündige means I quit my job.
