  2. Past

    きのう の タクシー は はやすぎた。

    Yesterday's taxi was too fast.

  3. Te-form

    でんしゃ が はやすぎて、 けしき が みえない。

    The train is too fast and you can't see the scenery.

  4. Potential

    はなす の が はやすぎて、 ききとれません。

    You're talking too fast, I can't catch it.

  5. Want to

    はやすぎる から、 もう いちど ききたい。

    That was too fast, I want to hear it once more.

  6. Volitional

    はやすぎる ね。 すこし ゆっくり はなそう。

  • はやい is also early, so はやすぎる can mean too early too: まだ はやすぎる.
  • Something is too fast by itself, so where a form isn't used, the sentence shows はやすぎる beside another verb.
