How to use останавливаться

  2. Past

    Мы останавливались в маленькой гостинице у вокзала.

    We used to stay at a small hotel by the station.

  3. Future

    Поезд не будет останавливаться до Твери.

    The train won't stop until Tver.

  4. Conditional

    Я бы не останавливался на полпути.

    I wouldn't stop halfway.

  5. Imperative

    Не останавливайся, у тебя хорошо получается.

    Don't stop, you're doing well.

Good to know

  • Останавливаться is to stop yourself, or a bus at its stops; остановиться is once. Останавливаться в гостинице is to stay at a hotel.
