  1. Present

    بَاسْمَع الأَغَانِي فِي المِتْرُو.

    I listen to songs on the metro.

  2. Past

    سِمِعْت صُوت عَلَى السَّطْح بِاللِّيل.

    I heard a noise on the roof at night.

  3. Future

    هَتِسْمَع الطَّبْل مِن الشَّارِع.

    You'll hear the drums from the street.

  4. After want, must and can

    عَايْزَة أَسْمَع الحِكَايَة مِن الأَوِّل.

    I want to hear the story from the beginning.

  5. Commands

    اِسْمَعِي الكِلْمَة دِي كْوَيِّس.

Good to know

  • "I hear you" uses the participle, سَامْعَك, not the present; listening to music is سِمِع too.
