How to use سَأَل

  1. Present

    السُّيَّاح بِيِسْأَلُونِي عَن الأَهْرَام كُلّ يُوم.

    The tourists ask me about the pyramids every day.

  2. Past

    سَأَلْت البَوَّاب عَن الشَّقَّة.

    I asked the doorman about the flat.

  3. Future

    هَاسْأَل مَامَا وِأَقُول لَك.

    I'll ask Mum and tell you.

  4. After want, must and can

    عَايِز أَسْأَل سُؤَال صُغَيَّر.

    I want to ask a small question.

  5. Commands

    اِسْأَل عَمّ مَحْمُود, هُوَّ عَارِف.

    Ask Uncle Mahmoud, he knows.

  • سَأَل عَن is to ask about something or after someone; to ask for a thing is طَلَب.
