THE STORY

The Egyptian Museum on a weekday morning: Salma ahead with Leo's parents at the gold mask, Karim and Leo a few steps behind. Leo speaks plainly to Karim and to Salma, friends of his own age.

دَه مِن ذُوقِكِ.da min ZOO-'i-ki.That's your kindness.
مَامَا بِتْقُول إِنِّكِ هَايْلَة.MAA-ma bit-'OOL IN-ni-ki HAY-la.Mum says you're great.
قُول لْهَا دَه مِن ذُوقْهَا.'OOL LA-ha da min ZOO'-ha.Tell her that's her kindness.
وَبَابَا بِيِسْأَل فِين المُومْيَاوَات.wi-BAA-ba bi-YIS-'al feen il-mum-ya-WAAT.And Dad asks where the mummies are.
