At the workshop Mr. Fathi hands Leo the wooden screen of an old house, his first project of his own, with his orders: if you find rotten wood, don't touch it; if the owner insists, send him to me.

THE STORY

The restoration workshop in al-Darb al-Ahmar, a weekday morning. Mr. Fathi, the boss, gives Leo his first project. Mr. Fathi speaks plainly to Leo; Leo uses the polite you with him.
