बचपन में हम रिमोट के लिए लड़ते थे.

As kids we used to fight over the remote.
Future

मैं अपने हक के लिए लड़ूँगी.

I'll fight for my rights.
Subjunctive

मैं नहीं चाहता कि बच्चे आपस में लड़ें.

I don't want the kids to fight among themselves.
Requests and commands

लड़ो मत, दोनों मिलकर खेलो.

Don't fight, play together, both of you.

Whom you fight takes से: रोहन नेहा से लड़ा; no ने in the past: हम लड़े, वे लड़ीं.
