    にちようび は ゆっくり やすみます。

    On Sundays I rest properly.

  2. Past

    かぜ で みっか がっこう を やすみました。

    I missed three days of school with a cold.

  3. Te-form

    ねつ が ある なら、 きょう は やすんで ください。

    If you have a fever, please take today off.

  4. Potential

    しごと が いそがしくて、 ぜんぜん やすめません。

    Work is so busy I can't rest at all.

  5. Want to

    らいしゅう、 みっか やすみたい んです が。

    I'd like to take three days off next week.

  6. Volitional

    ここ で すこし やすもう。

    Let's rest here a bit.

  7. Conditional

    よく やすめば、 すぐ なおります よ。

    If you rest well, you'll get better soon.

  8. Commands and requests

  • やすむ is also to take a day off: かいしゃ を やすみます, がっこう を やすみました.
  • おやすみなさい, "good night", is this verb.
