It's Monday the fifteenth of September, the start of Emma's second week of classes. She and Karim have an hour before their evening classes, and they're eating sandwiches in the staff room. Karim wants to know how her new life is going, from the moment she gets up. The honest answer is that it is tiring. Then it's her turn to ask, and his day starts even earlier than hers.
