The Keys

Emma signs the lease for Garnier's studio and receives the keys before her September move. Ask about documents, a deposit and a bank transfer, give birth details, say years and keep track of a door code. Later she pays the deposit and tells Chloe what is ready and what still has to wait.

A HISTÓRIA

It is Monday the twenty-fifth of August. Yesterday Emma accepted Madame Garnier's studio and celebrated with Chloe's family. Today the lease is on Garnier's kitchen table. The rent is five hundred and fifty euros, and Emma can move in on September first. She has her passport ready, but still needs to arrange the deposit.
