Past

पिछले साल मैं दो रात गोवा में ठहरा.

Last year I stayed two nights in Goa.

बचपन में हम गर्मियों में दादी जी के पास ठहरते थे.

As children we used to stay with Dadi ji in the summers.
Future

रोहन कल रात हमारे घर ठहरेगा.

Rohan will stay at our house tomorrow night.
Subjunctive

क्या मैं आज रात यहाँ ठहरूँ?

Shall I stay here tonight?

बारिश बहुत तेज़ है, थोड़ी देर यहाँ ठहरिए.

The rain is very heavy, stay here a little while.

ठहरना is to stay somewhere for a while, in a hotel or at a friend's; रुकना is to stop or wait: ज़रा रुको.
