How to use もうしあげる

  1. Present and future

    けっか は、 わたくし から もうしあげます。

    I'll tell you the result myself.

  2. Past

    その こと は、 せんじつ しゃちょう に もうしあげました。

    I told the president about that the other day.

  3. Te-form

    ていねい に おれい を もうしあげて、 でんわ を きりました。

    I thanked him properly and hung up.

  4. Potential

    いま の だんかい で は、 なに も もうしあげられません。

    At this stage, I can't tell you anything.

  5. Want to

    ひとこと、 おれい を もうしあげたく まいりました。

    I came because I wanted to say a word of thanks.

  6. Volitional

    おきゃくさま に、 わたし から おわび を もうしあげましょう。

    I'll offer the customer the apology myself.

  7. Conditional

    わたくし から もうしあげれば、 ごりかい いただける と おもいます。

    If I tell her myself, I think she'll understand.

Good to know

  • もうしあげる is いう said humbly, to someone above you or to a customer: おれい を もうしあげます, thank you; おわび もうしあげます, I apologize. もうす is the plainer humble いう: たなか と もうします.
  • お + verb stem + もうしあげる is the most polite "I do": おねがい もうしあげます.
