On Sunday afternoon Bia phones her grandmother in Minas, with the speaker on so that Daniel can hear, to ask if they can get married on the farm. Say "will you let us", "you made me cry" and "I insist on", answer the phone, ask permission politely, ask if someone agrees, and hear a grandmother set her one condition.

Sunday afternoon, November twenty-eighth, twenty twenty-seven, the day after the guest list. Nobody has asked Grandma Nena about the farm yet. She doesn't like video calls, so Bia rings her the old way, with the phone on the kitchen table and the speaker on so that Daniel can hear. In Minas it rings five times. Grandma Nena never runs for the phone. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
