A HISTÓRIA

Sunday the thirty-first of December, a few minutes before midnight, on the lakefront in Chicago, at minus fifteen. A few hundred people in hats and scarves are waiting for the fireworks over the frozen lake. In Bia's coat pocket there's a small bag of lentils, and another of grapes. Earlier, there was farofa at Susan's, and a call from Copacabana, where it was already midnight. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
