Good to know

  • ござる lives only in its polite forms: ございます, ございません, ございました. The plain ござる is period-drama speech, and nobody says ござって or ござろう today.
  • で ございます is a very polite です (はなや で ございます), and ありがとう ございます is this verb too. ございましたら is "if there is": ごしつもん が ございましたら.
  • ござる has no potential, want, command or passive of its own: those sentences show ございます beside another verb.
