Good to know

  • くもり is the weather, "cloudy"; くもって いる is "it's cloudy right now". めがね が くもる is for glasses that fog up.
  • かお を くもらせる is for a face that clouds over at bad news.
  • The sky clouds over by itself, so the potential, want and volitional sentences show くもる beside another verb.
