Two days after Emily's secret, a video call to Rio, where Carla and Rafael are on the beach in forty degrees, and Bia, in a reindeer jumper, finds out how much she misses home. Then Rafael has news about his sister, and Carla goes red. LA HISTORIA
Thursday the twenty-eighth of December, early afternoon in Chicago, and grey. Bia is sitting on the bed in Daniel's old room, in the reindeer jumper, with her phone. In Rio it's three hours later, and on the screen there's sun, sand, blue sea, and Carla and Rafael under a beach umbrella, waving. Before they hang up, Rafael has some news about his sister. That evening, Susan has a cure for homesickness in her freezer. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
