On Wednesday after work, Daniel and Bia sit down with a calculator and the offers both families made this week.

On Saturday at Carla's flat, Daniel and Bia try to fit everyone they love into a hundred and twenty chairs, and then Daniel has a question for Rafael.

On Sunday afternoon Bia phones her grandmother in Minas, with the speaker on so that Daniel can hear, to ask if they can get married on the farm.

On Tuesday after work Daniel and Bia meet Dona Vera, a wedding planner in Botafogo, and book her on the spot.

On Sunday morning Daniel and Bia tell his parents in Chicago about the farm, on a video call.

On Thursday morning Daniel and Bia go to the registry office to start the paperwork for the wedding, and find out they have come too early.

On Saturday Bia goes looking for her wedding dress with her mother, who has come down from Minas, and Daniel isn't allowed anywhere near it.

The menu tasting with the caterer and Dona Vera, and Daniel has opinions about everything, from the cheese pastries to the little chocolate sweets.

Everything piles up, and Daniel and Bia have their first real argument about the wedding, over the day nobody has chosen.

Part Two begins.

Three days after they arrive, Grandma Nena faints after a morning in the sun in her vegetable garden, and they take her to the hospital in town.

A week after the hospital, Grandma Nena is giving orders from the veranda, and Daniel meets the carpenter.

The priest from the town comes up to the farm, and Daniel and Bia go into the old chapel for the first time.

Saturday is market day in the town.

On the veranda after dinner, Grandma Nena tells the story of how she met Grandpa Zeca, sixty-five years ago, and brings out the hat she never gave back.
