PART 2 · LESSON 16 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Nishiki Market
Yui has the afternoon off and takes Ben to Nishiki market, a long covered street of food stalls where everyone wants him to taste something. That evening, by the river, she has a question for him. Say how things taste, count things from one to five, ask for so many of something, understand the total, and say you're full.

THE STORY
Nishiki market is a narrow covered street in the middle of Kyoto, four hundred metres of tiny food stalls. Yui has the afternoon off, and she wants Ben to taste everything, and to do it all in Japanese. At a pickle stall, the seller calls out to them. An hour later, at the far end of the street, Ben can't eat another thing, and dinner by the river is at seven. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
