PART 2 · LESSON 14 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Cherry Blossoms
On Saturday, Ben, Yui, Kenta and Ben's parents go to see the cherry blossoms in Ueno park, the most famous picnic of the Japanese year, and Yui meets Ben's parents in person for the first time. Talk about the blossoms in full bloom, say you saved a spot or bought something in advance, say you made something and brought it, name the picnic food, and get everyone to say cheese.

THE STORY
Saturday, April fourth. Ueno park is a tunnel of pink. Every patch of ground under the cherry trees is covered in blue plastic sheets, where friends, families and colleagues sit and eat and drink all day. Kenta got there at seven in the morning to save a place. Yui has come up from Kyoto with a lunch she made, and today she meets Ben's parents for the first time. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
