The Neighbour
It's Thursday, the seventeenth of July. Mrs. Sato sends Ben off with a futon from the inn, and he takes a small gift next door, as people do in Japan. His neighbour Mrs. Tanaka explains the rules for the rubbish, and that same evening he breaks one. Introduce yourself to a neighbour, give a gift modestly, understand which days and by what time, and say what you must not do.

A HISTÓRIA
It's Thursday, the seventeenth of July. There is a futon in the flat at last, so tonight will be Ben's first night there. In Japan, when you move in, you take a small gift to your neighbours and introduce yourself, so Ben has bought a box of biscuits. Next door lives Mrs. Tanaka, a woman in her seventies who has lived in the building for thirty years and knows every rule. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
