Emma moves into her studio and swaps keys with Chloe. Three mornings later the shower is ice cold, and the neighbour across the landing, Monsieur Petit, comes to help. Say something doesn't work, apologise for bothering someone, say "already", "not yet" and "anyway", say what you have to do, and thank a neighbour.

L’HISTOIRE

On Monday evening, the first of September, Emma comes home to her own studio. The furniture has arrived, and she and Chloe give each other's keys back. Three mornings later, on Thursday, the shower is ice cold, and nobody answers at Madame Garnier's door. In a coat over her towel, Emma knocks on the door across the landing. It opens on an older man in slippers, with a newspaper under his arm. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
