His Own Rod

Yui's father phones, five o'clock and don't oversleep, and a nurse puts Ben to bed at nine. Sunday, a quarter to five, the knock. Five o'clock, the car, and twenty minutes to the river in the hills north of Kyoto, with Ben's own rod and a cooler box. An hour of silence, then a bite.
