After welcoming her parents for Christmas, Emma celebrates a year in France with Chloe beside the river. Describe time since an arrival, skills learned and changes in confidence, then make a toast and look back on the year.

THE STORY

Emma meets her parents on December twenty-second and their fourteen-night guesthouse stay, payment, tree and gifts are completed before they leave on January fifth. The story then moves to her summer twenty twenty-six anniversary in France. Chloe invites her to a riverside terrace. Chicago later this summer remains her promised next journey; her stolen phone has not been recovered or replaced.
