Are You Mexican?

Sarah and Julian land in Seville, and the first person they talk to in Spain is a taxi driver who says "you all" in a way they've never used. Learn the Spanish of Spain for "you all" in the present - where are you going?, are you Mexican?, where are you from?, do you need help? - and say OK the way Spaniards do.

LA HISTORIA

It's September 3rd, three in the afternoon. After a day and a night of planes and airports, Sarah and Julian come out of Seville airport into a wall of heat. Two suitcases, a rug from Teotitlan, a bottle of mezcal. A taxi driver with a moustache and dark glasses puts their bags in the boot, turns the air conditioning up to maximum, and takes them across the river to Pureza Street, in Triana. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
