One Year

Thursday the twenty-third of November, twenty twenty-eight, a national holiday Ben didn't know he had, and the first anniversary of the shrine. Yui is off between two night shifts, three weeks into her job at the Kyoto hospital. ストーリー

Thursday, the twenty-third of November, twenty twenty-eight, a national holiday. Ten o'clock, the gate of the shrine in Kyoto where Ben and Yui married a year ago today, in the coats from Toronto. Half past twelve, the Yamamotos' table, because Yui's mother knew the date before they did. Four o'clock, the kitchen table in the flat, a phone propped against the teapot, and the Hanaya's front desk on the screen. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
