PART 1 · LESSON 1 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES Free
I Want You to Apply
Marcos is moving to Sao Paulo, and he wants Daniel to apply for his job. Half an hour later Paula, who has worked there for ten years, asks if he's going to apply, and won't say whether she wants the job herself. Learn the new form of the verb that Brazilians use when they want someone else to do something, and talk about a position, a promotion, a director and being ready.

THE STORY
The first Monday of the year. The office is half empty, and Daniel is still thinking about the beach. Then his boss, Marcos, puts his head round the door and asks for a minute. Half an hour later Paula, from Daniel's team, takes him for a coffee. She has already heard the news. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
