PART 1 · LESSON 4 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Nowhere Near as Good as Copacabana
Downtown Chicago, with the towers, the lake, the river and an ice rink. Compare two cities, "twice as many", "three times as much", "nowhere near as", "the size of", lose a hat to the wind, and try ice skating for the first time.

THE STORY
Monday, December eighteenth. Bia has her own clothes again, and Daniel takes her downtown on the train. They walk along the lake, between the towers and the grey water, and the wind comes off it like a wall. Then the bridge over the river, and an ice rink in the park, under the lights, where somebody falls. But not the one you'd think. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
