It Had Been Months Since I'd Heard That Accent
In a street of shops, Bia follows a smell she knows into a Brazilian bakery, run by a woman from Minas who has lived in Chicago for twenty years. Say "it had been months since", ask how long someone has lived somewhere, talk about missing home, and get something on the house.

THE STORY
Tuesday, December nineteenth, in the morning. Daniel and Bia have come into the city to shop for Christmas, in a street of small shops on the north side of Chicago. They are walking past a bakery with a green and yellow flag in the window, and Bia stops. She has smelled something. Inside, a woman from Minas has been baking for twenty years. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
