L’HISTOIRE
It's seven in the evening on Friday, the first of August, and Ben's first class is waiting on the third floor, eight students with their textbooks, most of them straight from work. The class is in English, but it begins and ends in Japanese. In the second row sits a young woman who doesn't say a word. An hour later, down in the staff room, Ms. Aoki wants to hear everything. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
