L’HISTOIRE

Thursday January first, 2026, back from the morning's shrine visit. Yui's mother has spent three days making the New Year food, in layered lacquer boxes. Ben is about to try a soup with rice cakes, which everyone tells you to eat slowly, and Sota is waiting for his New Year money. Over tea, the family asks Ben what he has and hasn't done in Japan.
