Monday Morning

On Monday, Mike asks Ben about his weekend, politely, because Ben is his senior, and Ben answers in plain Japanese, with a sore leg from futsal. Learn the plain past, the ta form of every verb, and datta, the plain "was". Tell a friend what you did, ask how their weekend was, and switch to polite when Ms. Aoki walks in.

L’HISTOIRE

It's Monday morning at Sakura English. Mike is already in the staff room. He's Ben's junior, so he still talks to Ben politely, and Ben talks to him plainly, the way seniors do. Mike wants to know about the weekend. Ben only went to watch futsal, ended up playing, and came home with a sore leg. Then Ms. Aoki puts her head round the door. At lunch, Mike tells Ben about his own weekend in Kamakura, and a message comes from Kenta. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
