The Rainy Season
June brings the rainy season, and Yui is made to work late, four nights in a row. Learn the causative passive, for things you're made to do (zangyō saserareta, nokorasareta, matasareta). Talk about overtime and exhaustion, the damp and the mould, washing that won't dry, a stolen umbrella, and an estimate nobody wants to read, and look after each other.

L’HISTOIRE
Thursday, the tenth of June. The rainy season has come to Tokyo, a month of grey skies and warm, wet air. The hospital is short of nurses, and Yui's head nurse keeps her late every night. Ben has been head teacher for ten days, and has found out what that means. They meet in the kitchen at ten, damp, tired and hungry, the washing hasn't dried for a week, and Ben still hasn't dared to read the planner's estimate. On Friday Mike's umbrella is stolen, and on Saturday the planner wants her answer. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
