PART 3 · LESSON 28 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
The Loan
Emma asks the bank for a business loan to open her school, then phones the estate agent before someone else takes the old shop, and celebrates with her friends. Say how much you need and what it's for, talk about a plan, figures and savings, say "about" with numbers, understand "you'll pay it back over five years", say you're nervous, hear "the loan is accepted", and ask if a place is still free.

THE STORY
It's Monday the twenty-sixth of April. For two weeks, Emma has worked on her plan every night, with Hugo's help and a lot of coffee. This morning, at ten o'clock, she has an appointment with the bank manager, with a folder full of papers under her arm. Her own adviser at the bank has already told him about her project. And the old shop in the Croix-Rousse isn't hers yet. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
