It is Monday evening, October twenty-seventh. Lupita has walked Sarah home after thirty-five patients, and Sarah cannot eat at the family table. Elena brings two cups of hot chocolate to the courtyard steps. On Tuesday morning, Sarah carries that kindness back to the clinic.
