On Sunday, on the long drive back to Merida, Sarah finally asks Camila why she travels alone, and Camila tells her about her old life in Monterrey. At a petrol station, Camila's parents call, and that evening at Rosa's, Tomas tells his own story. It's Sunday, December seventh. The storm has passed, and the road back to Merida is long and straight, with nothing but jungle on both sides. Sarah is at the wheel. After an hour of silence, she asks Camila the question she's wanted to ask since the day they met. Later, at a petrol station on the edge of Merida, Camila's parents call, and that evening, at Rosa's, Tomas has a story of his own.
