The Last Birth

On June 30th, Rosario delivers her last baby after thirty-two years, hands over her keys, and finds out that the ward doesn't obey her any more. Say you've just, again, I still don't, you'll stop, for the first time and for the last time, I said no parties, and who shall I give them to? Then follow her to the hospital door, where her sister Pepa is waiting with the car.

A HISTÓRIA

It's Friday, June 30th, three in the afternoon, the end of the morning shift. Rosario has delivered a baby boy in room four, her last. The whole ward knows. Nobody has said anything, because Rosario said that if anyone made a fuss she'd come back tomorrow. Lucia and Sarah find her at the nurses' desk, writing her last notes, very slowly. At four, somebody asks her to come to the staff room for a moment. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
