The Application
The midwife course is taking applications. Sarah goes to the school of midwifery, where a very precise secretary explains the requirements, then asks Doctor Ruiz for a letter and learns her boss's secret, and that evening Julian offers a printer. A HISTÓRIA
It's Thursday, the twenty-first of May, the day after the clay pot of mole. The applications for the midwife course opened this week, and Sarah has the morning off. The school of midwifery is in an old colonial house near the market, with a courtyard full of bougainvillea. The office is small and hot, and the secretary has a fan, a pile of folders and a very precise way of speaking. That afternoon, at the clinic, Sarah needs a favour from Doctor Ruiz, and in the evening Julian comes over. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
